Overgrown Bed Cleared Out and Given a Full Fresh Start

Here's what we were working with - a bed that had completely gotten away from itself. Overgrown shrubs spilling out onto the lawn, weeds taking over, and a separate area along the fence where the trash barrels were basically buried in overgrowth. It was a mess to navigate and honestly just created more work every week trying to maintain around it.

We cleared everything out. All the overgrown material came out of the main bed, the bed was cleaned up and refreshed, and we pulled all that overgrowth away from the barrel area too. That side area needed a completely different solution - something low-maintenance that would actually hold up over time and give the barrels a clean, accessible spot to live.

That's where the rock bed came in. We installed a gravel area along the fence line specifically for the trash and recycling barrels. No more fighting weeds back there. The barrels sit flat on a clean surface, they're easy to roll in and out, and the whole side of the property looks intentional now instead of neglected.

The main bed got the same treatment - cleared down, fresh mulch, and the remaining plantings have room to actually breathe. The difference between before and after is night and day. It's the kind of cleanup that doesn't just look better, it makes the property easier to manage going forward. Less mowing around stray branches, less trimming, less battling growth that was never supposed to be there.
